Chances are, you know exactly where you were when Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie dropped their earth-shatteringly !!!!!!! joint Instagram post on 13th May.
The clip, which featured a vintage-looking television filled with static and the celebs singing their famous The Simple Life catchphrase “sanasa” legit broke the internet when it was uploaded—especially given the even more jaw-dropping caption: “New Era. Same Besties. 👯♀️ Coming soon to Peaco*ck.”
Now that news of the duo’s brand-spankin’-new venture is officially out, fans everywhere are sliving to find out everything there is to know about it. Enter: Us, with absolutely all the deets on the show, from what it will likely be about to all the times the two teased us about its debut.
Kk, so what do we know about their new show?
Well, it seems as though the celebs have been hinting at the project (or, at the very least, showing the original a buncha love) since December 2023 around the time of the 20th anniversary of the premiere of The Simple Life.
“Happy 20th anniversary to show that started it all, The Simple Life! 👯♀️✨,” Paris penned on an Instagram post that showcased a carousel of iconic snaps from the show. “Filming this series with @NicoleRichie was one of the most special, hilarious and iconic times in my life. 🥰 I’m so lucky to have these amazing memories!! 💕 What’s your fav episode?? #ThatsHot 🔥 #TheOGs 👑👑 #TheSimpleLife.”
Fast-forward to 8th May, and Nicole sparked rumours of a potential reunion between herself and Paris with an Instagram post that showcased a collage of nostalgic snaps of the two of them from their The Simple Life days.
“From Day 1: Sill and Bill 👭,” the actor captioned the post, which Paris reposted on her Instagram Story at the time.
More recently, in June 2024, Paris had this to say about the series during a convo with E! News: “I'm so excited to be doing this with Nicole on Peaco*ck. Nicole has been my best friend since we're 2 years old, every memory that I have is with her.”
“Simple Life is such a special show,” she recalled of the beloved series before adding, “and this is just going to be so iconic and I can't wait for fans to see.”
Oh, and even before all this^^^—like, all the way back in 2018—the DJ teased fans via a Twitter poll that asked users, “Should #TheSimpleLife return?”

What will the show be about?
Details of the series have yet to be revealed (whomp!). That said, what we *do* know is that the new show will reportedly not be an exact duplicate of The Simple Life despite Paris and Nicole starring together, per TMZ.
However, the BFF duo has a tonne to choose from in terms of ~content~ in the 17 years since The Simple Life ended. Case in point? The two became parents! Nicole currently shares daughter Harlow, 16, and son Sparrow, 14, with her husband Joel Madden. Oh, and she also not-so-casually has an wildly successful fashion brand called House of Harlow.

Paris, for her part, is a successful DJ (uhm, hi, did you catch her May 2024 Coachella performance?!?!) and has a family of her own. The heiress recently welcomed son Phoenix, 1, and London, nine months, with her husband Carter Reum.
Has there been any behind-the-scenes ~content~ released?
Yes!!!! Case in point? The duo was recently photographed in California filming scenes for the reboot at fast food chain Sonic Drive-In in a true The Simple Life season one flashback moment. Ahem:
The snaps showcase the celebs wearing the chain’s signature blue uniform (with sparkling pumps and monogrammed purses, obvi), and one even sees Nicole sporting a hot dog mascot costume. Honestly have yet to see something these two don't look good in lol.

Paris and Nicole kinda sorta hit a speed bump that resulted in a falling-out in 2005...which ultimately led to The Simple Life being canceled by Fox. That! Said!!! It wound up getting picked up by E!, where it aired for another two seasons.
Clearly, however, the two have worked on their friendship and Nicole even opened up about her and Paris’s connection on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen in 2014 (via CBS 8). “Paris is somebody that’s been in my life since day one. An idea of a true friend is somebody that’s going to be there for you through and through,” the fashion designer gushed.
“I haven’t spoken to [Paris] in a while, but we are very good friends, and I love her and love her family and have a lot of respect for her,” she added.
Fast-forward a decade later, and it was Paris’s turn to appear on the show in November 2023 and hint at a new project just in time for the 20th anniversary of the iconic reality series.
“Nicole and I have been talking, and we have some surprises in store. I can’t believe it’s going to be the 20-year anniversary. It’s so crazy,” she teased.
And months later, during an April 2024 interview with the Today Show’s Hoda Kotb in April 2024, the House of Harlow founder straight-up addressed the possibility of a reboot. “We actually spoke recently about the fact that it’s been 20 years and should we do something to celebrate it...We’re chatting about it,” she confessed.
Honestly, never been happier about news in our entire lives.
